As we gladly welcome the rapid approach of Spring, 2026 the Board of Directors would like to remind each homeowner of the responsibilities that we each have in the maintenance of our properties and adjoining common grounds (parks, wooded areas and walking trails). Our goal as the Board is to maintain the Common Grounds in good condition at all times for the benefit of all Heatherwood Village Homeowners. Our job is to oversee the general maintenance of common areas and entrances (trees, lawn, signage, paths, and ponds). This becomes more challenging (and costly) when homeowners or adjoining subdivisions use our common grounds as a dump site for their yard debris.
The image below shows a section of the HOA's CCRs. Highlighted are actions the Board can take for violations including the dumping of yard debris in the Common Areas.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE COMMON GROUNDS FOR DUMPING YARD WASTE, TREE BRANCHES, LEAVES OR ANY GARBAGE/DEBRIS.
Please use Contact the Board to report or express any concerns

The wooden stairs on the Whitney Trail have been rebuilt! We thank everyone for your understanding as we navigated multiple quotes and financial approvals, and we look forward to seeing neighbors take advantage of this reconstruction.

The board is pleased to advise that a Solar Energy Policy was adopted on June 10, 2025 and became immediately effective. The policy aligns the Heatherwood Village HOA architectural policy with the State of Michigan Public Act 68 of 2024. Primarily, the policy permits homeowners to have solar panels installed on their roof for homeowner electricity generation. We encourage anyone interested in this emission-free option to emergency generators to read the policy and/or contact a solar energy contractor. Please be reminded that, just like any other architectural modification, an approved application is required prior to installation.
